My name is Rene, I made mistakes...

My love for real estate stems from my extreme dislike and shame of growing up poor. 

When I was young, I hated living in run-down trailer parks! No fault to my mom—she did the best she could as a single-mother. Raising two boys on a waitressing income isn't easy. 

By 18, I had to get out, so I fled into the military to escape my upbringing. On active duty, my housing was provided. 

When I left active duty and became a civilian, I realized how unprepared I was for the world. My formal education and military police background never taught me anything about real estate...but I was about to be hooked. 
As a result, I poured myself into books and podcasts, bought my first properties, and learned by trial and error.

Over time, after mistakes and disappointments, I acquired knowledge, a legal mentor, better systems, and greater success than I had planned. I figured out what worked for me and my family.

Now I want to serve others by helping them learn from my mistakes, as you probably help others learn from yours.

After seeing many of my fellow Floridians missing out on perks, and wasting time making mistakes like I did, I made this course. I hope it saves you lots of time and money! 

HERE'S REALLY 'WHY' I'M DOING ALL THIS...

I never got the Homestead Memo!
I learned about homestead years after I purchased my first house, which resulted in me missing out on precious tax savings. Eventually, I learned, researched, and filed for homestead, only to end up missing that year's deadline, which resulted in me missing another year of tax savings.

Finally, the following year I had my homestead go into effect!

NO!
Not again?! I learn that I missed MORE tax savings after the fact! Grrr!

So, the year my homestead went into effect, I learned there are additional tax exemptions that I could have added to my standard homestead exemption. However, by the time I filed for my additional exemption, it was in vain because I lost all exemptions when I moved. 

WAIT!?
I didn't know it was possible to transfer my previous homestead, so, yet again, I missed out. What the heck!? If I only knew about portability, I could have transferred my accumulative 'Save Our Homes' benefits and reduced the taxes on my new house.

Lesson Learned!
